Several political golf events happened in America
Several political golf events happened in America these few days, all related with 2 people—American president Obama, and Golf tycoon who always with taylormade r9 fairway wood in United States Donald Trump.
Because of the unavailable birth certificate of Obama, his political opponents rallied together to attack him. Obama always said that he was born in Hawaii while there is another voice said his actually born in Africa Kenya. With regard to the American who was born abroad,it is not allowed to be elected president in America. And that is the key to the birth certificate controversy.
It is actually a political issue, however it seems that the problem to be delayed for a whole 4 year!
Of course it has nothing to do with golf, but what the most important to be state is that Donald Trump, holding his callaway diablo edge irons who has just said something against Obama on TV and this action shall causing at least 2 golf effects.
The first one was comedian Jerry Seinfeld, a New York celebrity who expressed great dissatisfaction with what Donald Trump had done, meanwhile he canceled a charity golf tournament held by Donald Trump with St. Jude Hospital. Because of the case with Obama, several celebrities has break with Donald Trump, the former one is actor Robert DeNiro, and another is Oprah David Letterman,
The second effect is about the the Business Council of New Jersey, who also canceled a Golf Course in Philadelphia.
Some body said Donald Trump making this race issue showed his ambitious to president.
Speaking of Black and White, there happen to be one event regard to golf last week.
Evergreen group tour to Shoal Creek Golf & Country Club in Alaska last week, the city of Baltimore Birmingham Shoal Creek Golf & Country Club. It is the place that was known as a notorious racial incident in Golf history.
This play ground was compeleted in 1977, and the PGA Championship was hosted soon in 1984. The Championship shows a high quality with perfect public-relation of the golf course. The Champion that time was Lee Trevino, and soon, PGA Championship was decided to held back to Shoal Creek in 1990 again.
Here comes 1990 and the hoster Hall Thompson granted an interview to local Birmingham REVIEW. The reportor asked him what the reason is for the lack of black members in club. Hall said the following words: we have female members, as well as Jewish. We will not discriminate against other members in addition to blacks. This is our home and we have right to pick the member that we want.
There was carring a uproar after this interview since it is seldom happened in Golf history for such obviously racial discrimination. Despite Hall had clear that it is the reporter who made some mistakes in his words and shows a sincere apology. But as a fact of this case on, lots sponsors, including IBM had quitted that PGA Championship.
Since last racial incident happened, championship had never been back to Shoal Creek until last week.
