Truancy is a term a bit hackneyed and misunderstood in the business world today. If a company has a high absenteeism rate, usually not all the company, but only certain sections or divisions of this society that contribute to the average of which is unacceptable. It may be wise to attack the problem with a shotgun or rifle, but to identify and fix problem areas.
There are, of course, some programs of any company that can be launched as a reward for perfect attendance with gifts and bonuses. Although these policies are not bad, can affect the profitability too expensive for employees who are never absent in the first place, although they have little effect on those who are frequently absent without apparent good reason.
Assuming you have good employment practice, an attendance policy in force and a force working reasonably well, if absenteeism is high, there are stressors at work in the company. While some of the posts themselves are high voltage usually the people who occupy these positions are those that can and should be addressed. They do not lose the job. Over 90% of the time, absenteeism due to high voltage interpersonal relationships in the office or shop. It is not always between the supervisor and employee, and sometimes it among workers.
If a supervisor is to create a hostile environment, then the morale will be low throughout the department and absenteeism is high. If it is between staff, the high rate of absenteeism will focus on geographical area of the department. All you need is some control of the attendance records to see where the abuse is happening and by whom.
Once problem areas are identified, it is a matter of recycling or disposal. Perhaps a supervisor needs additional training in skills interpersonal. Perhaps an employee needs advice on the conduct of their own work and no no gossip. If the board and / or recycling do not work, then eliminating the source of interpersonal conflict is the only answer. The withdrawal does not transfer the problem to another department, which means elimination of the company.
This may create another problem, what to do when an employee leaves or a supervisor and no one to take its place. Consider outsourcing. The human resources outsourcing companies can provide an excellent people temporarily or permanently replaced. The result of their efforts will be more moral and less absenteeism.
