Northern California – the land of the variety, the land of something for everyone! Therefore, it should be on your Bucket List "the things that I want to do before I die."
Northern California is full of contrasts: stunning beaches of the Sea of mountain ranges, deserts Misty Redwood forest land to the metropolis Ag sophisticated. I tell you that you find something you like Northern California!
So what is love?
1. The Sea
You will find sandy beaches and rocky cliffs, tide pools and fishing villages. There are places like Carmel-by-the-Sea ports, such as Monterey Bay, and nature reserves such as Point Reyes. Continue along the coast of Big Sur on Highway 1 for the most spectacular views found anywhere in the world!
2. Wine Country
Certainly, Sonoma and Napa Valley – where the California wine industry has gained from his departure. However, the "country wine "has reached almost all areas of Northern California. There are excellent wines and grapes are produced in such unlikely places as Mendocino call, gold country California, Lake County – Lodi for the reasons Pete!
3. City Life
When you think of cities in northern California, I'm sure that San Francisco is the first thing that comes to mind. And there are good reasons for that! It is a charming city with a sophisticated European style – one of my favorite places! But there are also funky Berkeley, once in a while college-town-all adults-San Jose, cowboy town became a capital city and the charm Sacramento Chico!
4. Snow Country
A short trip to the Sierra Nevada or cascades, where you are always in the snow to get to NorCal at any time from late autumn to spring. You can ski, snowboard, roller skating, snow shoeing, or – in the box sitting in front of a large fireplace and enjoy a hot toddy!
5. Call of Nature
Most people think of California as a state heavily populated, and indeed in some areas. But in northern California, the majority of the population lives in and around cities. Once you get out of town, forests are full of wildlife, waterfowl migration corridor after the Pacific to warmer climates, the hills extending from Valley Oaks, mustard, and wild flowers. Excellent for walking Sunday and / or backpack.
. - 6 What story?
Nothing says "History" as the gold rush! Names such as Placerville, Hangtown, Coloma put pictures of gold mining, long toms, and dredging. But there's more NorCal history in the gold rush. Indians who were here thousands of years before anyone else. The Spanish and their missions, the era of the towns and haciendas of Mexico the Russians – even the Ozzies played a role!
7. Watersports
Northern California between the Pacific Ocean, lakes and rivers and streams, there are a lot of water sports including fishing (salt and fresh water), sailing boats (boats, kayaks and canoes, sailing), surfing, snorkeling, diving, rafting!
8. Mountain Vacation
Everything from hiking in the desert mountains of renting a log cabin in the edge of the forest for luxury boxes in the center one of the most famous national parks in the country, the mountain ranges of northern California, offers a wide variety experiences.
9. The national parks, state parks and national forests
Can you say, "Yosemite National Park?" Gigantic Granite outcrops, a valley shaped by ancient glaciers, alpine meadows. . . But this is only the beginning! Lassen Volcanic National Park does, famous for its hydrothermal areas and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park, Giant Sequoias. NorCal is wild more than we can imagine, given its population!
10. Agriculture
What was the biggest competition of wildlife in northern California (more people)? Agriculture. The wetlands were dried, the forests were cleared. . . Moreover, there is probably more good food produced in northern California than anywhere else in the world. Artichokes, cotton, fruit trees, walnuts, sunflower seeds, rice, melons, pumpkins, corn, wheat – not to mention the grapes and wine grapes! Ever wanted to see how nuts are thrown into the well, or how the olive oil is pressed from olives? Take a tour of the farm and see where their food comes from!
Tired heard? It's time to leave your bucket list and add Northern California – I bet he will be top of your list!
