Ladies Golf Shoes
It took golf manufacturers some time to realise that lady golfers were here to stay and that lady golfers would require their own clubs and accessories and, even, golf shoes that could be used, exclusively, by lady golfers.
Mary, Queen of Scots, was purported to be an avid golfing enthusiast and is speculated to have given the word caddy to the world of golf. In France, where Mary spent her childhood, it was customary for military cadets to transport Golf Clubs and when Mary returned to Scotland this altered from cadet to caddy. In fact, it would not be until the 1940’s, some 400 years too late for Mary, Queen of Scot’s round of golf, that ladies golf shoes would appear on the market, albeit, a cut down version of men’s golf shoes.
