Graphite Vs Steel Golf Clubs – The Big Difference!
YES! Whether you use a graphite or steel golf club, your performance is definitely going to be affected by the material used for manufacturing the club. You may have thought practicing your swing is the only thing you need to concentrate on in order to improve your prowess on the green, but experts advise taking a closer look at the material used for your golf club as this determines the kind of play afforded to your game.
The right club will definitely work to improve your performance on the course and choosing one is not as big or daunting a task as beginner golfers often think it be; we have some of the most useful tips on selecting the club most suited to your current skill level and style. Take a look:-
Just as wearing the wrong size of shoes can result in a lot of problems for the wearer, investing in the wrong kind of golf club is nothing short of a disaster for the amateur keen on playing like a pro and working to improve their game. This is because the wrong kind of club can withhold the results of your efforts as much as buying the right one can help you see the improvements, which are motivational for a sportsperson to observe and better their performance by. This is why even if you have inherited an expensive or branded set of golf clubs from someone, it doesn’t quite necessarily mean they are right for you or will ensure you are on your way to pro-golf championship cup wins! As a beginner, you need to be money-wise and also have the smarts to either borrow a good set from a friend or buy used but good quality golf clubs so you can begin your game in earnest –without having to worry about dents and scratches on expensive clubs or breaking the bank!
For buying a good set of golf clubs as a beginner, you need to consider the head-size, shaft, length and flex rating of the club. You also need to check out what kind of material the club is made of e.g. steel or graphite. While steel is cheap, it is not exactly poor quality, which is a misconception held on to by many people and thus they stay away from buying steel golf clubs. However, if your personal style is aided by using a steel club, by all means, stick to using it.
Steel is also hardy and thus great for long-wear as it is a durable metal that is considerable stiffer than graphite. If, on the other hand, you have used a graphite club, you are sure to have found it more flexible than steel, though it is relatively heavier in comparison to the steel one. This is why some people, especially those slightly build or ladies, may find it easier to get that perfect swing with the graphite golf club and prefer to buy the same. Faster swings are thus, better achieved with the use of a steel club and more flexi-swings with a graphite club – take your pick, based on your personal needs.
