How to set the cable to help anything??

So a coaxial cable that runs from I took the cable to my computer and have started with Elgato EyeTV. However, this does not work I went down and connected it worked perfectly for the next thing I did was a TV and try to box with cable outlet and na no work. I know it is connected because I have a very fuzzy channel. When we moved in and configure the cable guy did something with that thing on all the other rooms. Should I Back to solve this problem too?
